Fast growing Russian lure manufacturer XP Baits has made its first steps into the North American market.
The company has appointed lure specialist Acme Fishing Tackle, based in Rhode Island, as its distributor for the US and Canada, where its products will be on the shelves of all major retailers throughout the region as well being sold through other distribution channels.
XP Baits International Sales Manager Nelly Nasybullina says the agreement came about after Acme Tackle COO Robin Hancock recognised the potential for the lures in the market.
It has initially taken the company’s highly-rated Butterfly, known in the US as the Hyper Glide, and plans to test the market by pre-selling other lures in its portfolio. “Acme particularly liked the unique design and quality of the Butterfly and the fact that – like our other products – it has a proven fish-catching record.”
North America is the latest export market to come under the XP Baits radar which also includes Russia, Australia and the Czech Republic. It is currently targeting countries in Europe, Asia and South Africa.
