Wholesaler doubles sales following online collaboration

Fishing tackle wholesaler, Triple S Sporting Supplies, reports that sales have doubled since it began a new collaboration to drive its e-commerce business.
The US-based company has adopted a new platform called FocusPoint, the flagship product of system applications and products (SAP)) provider, Focused Impressions.
With a global network of 1,000 dealers, Triple S has a catalogue of more than 22,000 products and 130,000 SKUs in its SAP system, including rods, reels, lines, lures, apparel and other accessories.
“We have a lot of products and we wanted our web store to be super easy for customers to order online,” said Cliff Harris, Triple S Vice President. “Our previous e-commerce solution was a smartphone app that had its challenges.
“Chief among them was it did not provide an easy-to-use web store and customers became frustrated and were not placing orders online via the web store.
“We needed to create a new yet familiar B2C experience with all the functionality of a B2B site where customers could find and order products in just a couple of clicks. We’ve achieved that with FocusPoint.”
Harris says that since the new web store went live, online sales have doubled compared to the same period last year. “And site traffic has increased by at least 100%. So by every measure FocusPoint is a success,” he added.
The platform’s customer service model guarantees real-time system updates to provide dealers with current pricing and ordering information.
Triple S showcases thousands of products in more than 1300 categories on the new web store, which this is just the first phase of an evolving online sales plan. It aims to refine the exiting site and also launch a B2C website for its private label lures and tackle.
“That is the beauty of FocusPoint. It provides both B2B and B2C e-commerce and marketing on a single platform,” says Craig Stockmal, Founder and CEO of Focused Impressions.
