The American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA) appointed a new Executive Committee and three new members to its Board at its third-quarter meeting in Bozeman, Montana, last week.

Michael White of Blue Ribbon Sales becomes the first sales rep to serve as AFFTA Chairman. He is joined by Vice Chair Jennifer Lavigne (Waterworks-Lamson), Secretary Colby Trow (Mossy Creek Fly Fishing) and Treasurer Larry Barrett (Far Bank Enterprises).

The new board seats are occupied by Lise Lozelle (Maven Fly), Brent Bauer (Umpqua) and Sam Lungren (Back Country Hunters and Anglers).

Lozelle has a background in marketing, promotions and brand building and founded Maven Fly in 2012 with a mission to combine fashion and function in women’s outdoor clothing. Before that she worked in the marine industry at Tempress Products, a family business. A graduate of the University of Arizona, she lives in Austin, Texas.

Bauer has spent 16 years at Umpqua and is currently Director of Product Management. He has worked with fly tyers including ‘Copper’ John Barr, Charlie ‘Ju Ju’ Craven and Blane ‘Game Changer’ Chocklett to produce some of the sector’s most innovative products.

Lungren is editor of Backcountry Journal, the publication of non-profit conservation body Back Country Hunters and Anglers. He has a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and a Master’s in environmental journalism and natural resource science. He also contributes to several other well-known fly fishing publications.
