Westin and Kinetic strengthen UK and Eire team

Fast-growing Danish fishing brands Westin and Kinetic have significantly strengthened their United Kingdom and Ireland team with the appointment of a new sales agent and additional ambassadors.
Gareth Whittington has added the UK to his sales responsibilities in Ireland. He brings a wealth of knowledge of the UK angling trade, having previously held several senior roles in the industry. The company says his appointment underlines the great strides he has made with Westin and Kinetic in Ireland.
Westin CEO Thomas Petersen Eidor said: “We have a good and long track record with Gareth as sales representative in Ireland and we are very pleased to have him represent Westin and Kinetic in UK in the future.”
In addition to the new sales role, Westin has also significantly strengthened its ambassador line-up in the region in recent months with several key signings designed to broaden the experience and media impact in the team.
Highly experienced lure fishing guide, Tim Maslen, of Severn Expeditions, was the first angler to join the team as a UK ambassador this autumn. He targets both freshwater and saltwater predators using Westin’s extensive lure fishing range. The impact of the zander expert has already been felt with several videos demonstrating his trademark tactics on his home ground of the River Severn receiving great coverage on social media.
Regular readers of the angling media in the UK will be familiar with the name of Andy Black as he contributes regularly to specialist magazines, as well as writing a regular predator column for Anglers Mail. A self-confessed big fish angler, he has an enviable track-record of catching huge pike, zander and perch on lures and has been at the forefront of promoting modern predator fishing tactics in recent years.
Competition lure fishing has grown rapidly in the UK in recent years and one angler who has been at the forefront of this trend is Westin’s final ambassadorial appointment, Thom Hunt. Winner of numerous predator competitions in the UK, Hunt is as at home boat fishing on huge reservoirs as he is competing on canals. A great communicator, he is also a regular speaker at angling events and has his own predator fishing YouTube channel.
