Tackle shops in Wales are back in business – with Scotland following suit from June 29th – as non-essential retailers are allowed to re-open.
And if the response in England is anything to go by, the businesses are in for some hectic trading. English shops opened on June 15th and some owners have reported turnover more than double that of the same time last year as anglers flock back to the water.
Shops in Wales and Scotland will be allowed to welcome customers again provided they follow guidelines to ensure the health and safety of staff and customers. Unlike England, social distancing is written into law in Wales and requires employers to keep workers two metres apart.
Also, the Welsh administration is not expected to change its guidance that people should not travel more than five miles.
Scotland will allow outdoor markets and shops to reopen from June 29th if they have outdoor entrances and exits.
