The new TroKar TK619 circle is one of the highlights on the Eagle Claw booth at ICAST this week.

New hooks from TroKar and Wright & McGill rods and reels will be on view at the Eagle Claw booth at ICAST.

One of the highlights from TroKar in 2015 will be its new line of awe-inspiring TK619 circle hooks. Offered in both medium and heavy wire, as well as ringed versions, these big new circle hooks are said to be ‘scary sharp’ and super strong. They are available in both offset and non-offset versions.

Also new are the TK133 Big Nasty Flippin’ and TK135 HD Flippin’ hooks which both feature TroKar’s industry-leading injection moulded keeper system.

The Big Nasty Flippin’ incorporates an aggressive bend design that is engineered to keep the fish pinned up tight. Manufactured in Denver, CO, with super-high carbon Q741 wire, it was made with a smaller gap to accommodate various styles of precision baits.

The TK135 is the most radically stout flippin’ hook produced by TroKar to date and is said to give fishermen the confidence and ability to hoist a behemoth wrapped in milfoil to the boat deck without the slightest chance of bending or breaking.

Wright & McGill will be showing off three spinning reels which it says are ready to test the limits of both fresh and saltwater applications. These include the Sabalos Pro Carbon and Skeet Reese Victory Pro Carbon spinning and Skeet Reese Victory II casting reels.

Both Pro Carbon models feature an ultra-light, strong and durable carbon frame and balanced rotor. The ported aluminium spools have carbon inserts to reduce weight even further while also adding to the rigidity.

They have custom graphite handles and EVA knobs to enhance performance and comfort. Wright & McGill adds that the fast 6.0:1 gear ratio, titanium main shafts and a total of ten ball bearings, including two ceramic ones, ensure that both the Sabalos and Victory are the smoothest, lightest and highest performing reels that the company has ever introduced.

They come in three sizes: 20, 30 and 40.

The new Skeet Reese Victory II reel features a lightweight aluminium frame and spool and is available in both left and right-hand retrieve in a 6.3:1 and 7.0:1 gear ratio.

It has an easily adjustable, magnetic casting control on the outside of the sideplate which allows the angler to fine-tune the reel for any bait presentation and fishing application. The spool is removable and rides smoothly on stainless steel ball bearings.

The extra wide power handle makes landing larger fish easier and provides for maximum energy when needed. The powerful star drag is infinitely adjustable to any fishing condition.

B.A.S.S. Elite Series pro, Skeet Reese, was also instrumental in designing the latest range of Victory Pro Carbon rods – a ten-product range that features seven casting models and three spinning. They all have the company’s exclusive Pro Carbon blank, new guides and new reel seats, all designed to reduce weight and ‘create the ultimate fishing tool’.
