One of the UK’s largest and best-known commercial fisheries has been put on the market for £1.75m.
Makins Fishery, in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, is a well-known match fishing venue and regularly attracts some of the top anglers in the region. The 58-acre site includes 18 fishing lakes, a bait shop and cafe as well as an adjoining caravan park and holiday lodges.
Its sale is being handled by real estate adviser, Collier International. The company’s Robert Smithson, said: “The current owners have done an excellent job in growing the business and establishing its reputation across the UK. This is a rare opportunity for a new owner to acquire an outstanding commercial coarse fishery in an ideal and accessible trading location.
“After developing an extremely successful fishery that is enjoyed by both pleasure and professional anglers alike, the owners have diversified into the holiday market to ensure the business maintains a year-round range of income streams, which is proving to be worthwhile and offers substantial room for further growth.”
