The World Fishing & Outdoor Expo starts tomorrow (February 27) and runs through until Sunday (March 1) at its usual venue, the Rockland County Community College in Suffern, New York.
More than 250 exhibitors selling products from the fishing, boating, kayaking and hunting sectors will pack the show floor and there are daily seminars hosted by expert anglers, including Brandon Palaniuk, Oliver Ngy, James Watson and Shaw Grigsby.
Other highlights include a Fishing 101 interactive sector, where experts will provide insights and instruction geared to new anglers, and a 5,000-gallon fish tank stocked with largemouth bass where pro anglers will demonstrate the latest lures.
Sunday is ‘family day’ when children aged 11 and under will get in free.
“This is a one-stop-shop to learn about and stock up on everything you need for your next adventure,” said Tod Alberto, Show Manager. “With a line-up of incredible seminars and some of the industry’s most elite fishermen and sportsmen in attendance, show goers have the unique opportunity to brush up on the skills needed for a wide variety of outdoor recreations.”
One of the highlights of the show is sure to be Shimano’s unveiling of its new Stella 4000XG, 5000HG, 6000HG, 18000HG, 20000PG and 30000 models, featuring upgrades to bring them into line with the entire Stella series.
Also on display will be the company’s OCEA Jigger reels (four models) designed for both power and high-speed jigging, and the new Grappler jigging rods that match perfectly with the new reels.
Other Shimano products on view will include the new Twin Power spinning reels for light action freshwater up to inshore saltwater, the ICAST award-winning Stradic FL spinning reels, the SLX DC (digital control) casting reels and the new SP-ORCA Baby and Pop-ORCA saltwater lures.
Shimano brands, G. Loomis and Powerpro, will also feature at the show. G. Loomis has the IMX-PRO Blue inshore rods as well as the IMX-PRO bass rods, which has been expanded to include the new ‘Classic’ action models.
Powerpro will be showing its Super8Slick V2 Moon Shine braid, another ICAST award-winner, which is proving popular for both night-time bass fishing and certain saltwater fishing situations.
Other exhibitors include Cashion Rods, Daiwa, Duckett Fishing, Garmin, Humminbird, Lew’s, Lund, Minn Kota, Pure Fishing, Ranger Boats, Savage Gear and St. Croix.
