The Kingfisher, a major distributor of tackle in South Africa, has added to its carp fishing offering with the addition of one of Europe’s major bait suppliers.
The company, which already handles the sales of carp brands Delkim and Korda in the country, will now be responsible for distributing Mainline Baits. The Weekly Cast – a digital newsletter from All Lion Enterprises – reports that the move has been prompted by the continuing increase in specimen carp fishing in the region.
UK-based Mainline Baits is one of the biggest suppliers of carp baits and apparel with a range that exceeds 350 items. Its massive portfolio of shelf-life baits will be offered by retailers across South Africa at prices very close to those in the UK, reports The Weekly Cast.
The Kingfisher, which is also the main Daiwa representative in South Africa and has its own retail store in Durban, has made great strides in the carp market over the last 18 months and boasts its own team of expert carp anglers who have been recruited to help teach newcomers to the sport the intricacies of the discipline.
All Mainline Baits will be available in South Africa with the exception of its Freezer range. The Kingfisher has identified a manufacturer who will be using Mainline Baits’ ingredients as used in the UK to manufacture freezer-quality baits.
