US rod company, St. Croix, has promoted Ryan Teach to the role of Product Manager, a newly-created position within the marketing team.
Teach will be based at the company’s Park Falls factory and will seek and coordinate critical feedback from anglers, dealers and retailers to help direct future product development.
Manager of St Croix’s factory store for the past two and a half years, Teach has undergraduate degrees in business management and product marketing and a master’s degree in organisational development. He is a passionate angler.
“Ryan’s appointment is an illustration of the angler-centric growth of the St. Croix brand, as well as our culture of creating opportunities and developing talent,” said Director of Marketing, Jesse Simpkins.
“His passion for fishing and the St. Croix brand and products will allow us to accelerate and add value to the product development process within our business.”
Teach left a career with a Fortune 500 company three years ago to literally knock on St. Croix’s door. “I’m looking at industry trends worldwide and making sure our products reflect what anglers, dealers and retailers really want,” he said. “Anyone who thinks this is the best our company can get is strongly mistaken.”
St. Croix will be unveiling its new Legend Xtreme Series at the Bassmaster Classic in March. “These are the most sensitive rods we have ever produced. Ryan has been at the core of this project since its inception,” said Simpkins.
