The skipper of the boat which bagged a mouthwatering cheque for $324,800 following the capture of the biggest fish on Day Two of the famed Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot Tournament, has praised the performance of products supplied by its sponsor, American Fishing Wire (AFW).
The 241lb yellowfin tuna was caught by Team Hooray using HI-SEAS Grand Slam Bluewater Monofilament line, HI-SEAS 100% Fluorocarbon Leader and AFW Ball Bearing Swivels.
Captain Pancho Bojorquez, skipper of Team Hooray, said: “I partnered with AFW a couple of years ago. Its brands and products are truly of great quality and hold up over time. We fish year round for pelagic fish and AFW products are right there with us. It’s why we trust its products and leader during tournament time and it has proved itself once again for us.”
AFW Sales Director Steve Miller was on board when the winning tuna was caught. “We were trolling as well as flying a kite throughout the day and located the tuna on a pod of porpoise. It took about 40 minutes to boat the yellowfin and it was worth every minute.”
AFW brands include American Fishing Wire, HI-SEAS, Triple Fish and C&H Lures and has a history of product development and innovation dating back to 1926.
