Sert looking for Export Manager

French fishing tackle manufacturer, Sert, is looking for an Export Manager.

French fishing tackle manufacturer Sert is looking to extend its distribution network with the appointment of an export manager.

The company, which produces brands that include Sakura, Sert, Garbolino Prowess and Anatec, already has a network of over 20 distributors across Europe.

Its General Manager, Franck Courtillet is accepting direct enquiries for the job and told Angling International: “Our export base is already significant and growing with more coming on stream thanks to our presence at EFTTEX. However, we now need a full-time export manager to expand those existing networks and open up new countries.

“We want to have people in all European countries and beyond. We are also planning to go direct in some specific regions. We do that already in the UK, mainly because of our history with Garbolino, but it is a way to market that we will expand as it helps us remain competitive against local brands.

“Sert has long been a very French business with export playing a small role. However, our future lies in Europe and we are now in a situation where we have demand from abroad for our products that we cannot fulfill because of the lack of an organised distribution network.

“Brands like Garbolino, Prowess and Sukura appeal to customers outside France and we want to ensure that that demand is fulfilled. Having a dedicated export manager will help us do that.”

The responsibilities of the Export Manager will be:

  • Management and growth of current European distribution network;
  • Set-up and management of new direct sales export markets;
  • Set-up and management of export sales and A and P budgets;
  • Providing feedback on export market development needs;
  • Management of export shows, including EFTTEX;
  • Management of Blanquefort-based export sales assistant.

The applicant should have at least five years’ experience in export sales and have an excellent knowledge of the fishing tackle industry. As well as French, the candidate should be fluent in English while German would be a big advantage.

The position is located at Sert’s headquarters in Blanquefort, but could be home-based depending on the candidate’s profile and location.
