Savage Gear is set to introduce its EFTTEX award-winning Line Thru Trout to the US and Canadian markets.

Since its launch and win at the European trade show in 2014, the bait has proved to be a huge hit for trophy anglers from all over the world. Savage Gear USA, part of the Danish-based Svendsen Sport group, is set to unveil the soft lure at ICAST next month.

These baits come rigged on strong wire leaders with treble and stinger hooks mounted to the bait. Once a fish takes the bait, the hooks dislodge from the bait as it slides up the leader. This means less damage to the lure and fewer lost fish.

They are available in 8, 10, 12 and 16-inch sizes and have been designed for musky and pike.

The company, which will be sharing a booth with its US distributor Okuma at the show, will also be unveiling the TPE Soft Vibe in Orlando. “Silent blade baits have been deadly on fish for many years,” says Savage Gear. “However, they lack any realism to actual baitfish.

“The TPE Fat Vibe crosses that barrier with lifelike feel and looks. Built of durable TPE material, which is as strong as rubber and as flexible as PVC, the TPE Fat Vibe gives anglers all the action of their favourite lipless crank without all the noise,” adds Savage Gear.

Another newcomer to the US market will be Savage Gear’s 3D Mayfly Nymph. The company has 3D-scanned an actual mayfly nymph to create the first lifelike lure in both looks and swimming action.

Again made of TPE, the nymphs have been designed to catch everything that swims, including trout, steelhead, walleye and bass.

ICAST booth No: 802, 817.
