North America’s trade magazine for the recreational fishing industry has undergone a major management restructure, including the appointment of a new editor.
B.A.S.S. Senior Editor, Ken Duke, is returning to Fishing Tackle Retailer (FTR) as Managing Editor. A long-time industry professional, Duke worked on the title from 2005 to 2010 when the publication was owned by B.A.S.S.
“Ken brings years of editorial experience, interesting new ideas and an understanding of our unique relationship with the trade as a b2b publication,” said Brian Thurston, FTR President.
Both the print and digital assets of FTR have undergone complete redesigns in the last year and Duke says he is looking forward to using both avenues to innovate in the publishing industry.
He said: “I am thrilled to be working with FTR. It’s a publication that I have admired for a long time and I hope to continue the great work that has been going on there. It is wonderful to join a company that is already an industry leader.
“Although I am new to the role of Managing Editor of FTR, I am not exactly new to the publication. I served on the staff for several years and since then I have watched its development with interest. I am excited about the challenge of keeping things growing and moving in the right direction.”
The addition of Duke coincides with a reshuffle at FTR which sees current Publisher and Founder Clem Dippel take on a new role as Senior Consultant. Thurston and Carlton Viers will jointly share the title of Publisher.
