US apparel brand, RepYourWater, has surpassed a three-year goal to raise $250,000 for conservation causes. As of last month, the Colorado company officially donated $285,000, four months ahead of schedule.
“Thank you to our customers, who are fiercely loyal,” said RepYourWater co-founder, Garrison Doctor. “I think that has a lot to do with the fact that they genuinely care about supporting conservation, and our products are a way for them to do that. We will set our sights on some new conservation donation goals.
“We are also really excited about a new initiative called the Fly Fishing Climate Alliance, a group of brands, shops, guides and lodges, of which we are one, that has pledged to go carbon neutral by 2030 (see Communiqué Online, September 3). Climate change is the single greatest threat to fish on the planet.”
RepYourWater has a policy of giving 3% of every sale back to conservation partners. Trout Unlimited, Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust and the Wild Steelhead Coalition are among the organisations to have benefited.
The company urged customers to be on the look-out for a new 2025 conservation donation goal and to track progress in its 2020 Annual Sustainability Report.
