The latest from R.L. Winston’s acclaimed Boron rod range is the Boron III Plus series, which includes freshwater and saltwater models along with extra powerful Jungle rods.

The Plus, says the fly rod manufacturer, stands for incredible line speed, additional power and design qualities capable of handling big flies, strong winds and large fish.

The rods are lightweight, smooth casting and feature the company’s new shooting guides and green reel seats, adds Winston. They are all made in Twin Bridges, Montana, and feature US-made components.

The Boron III collection comprises three ‘reinforced’ Jungle rods (8wt and 9wt) designed specifically for peacock bass and dorado, saltwater rods (6wt to 12wt) and freshwater rods (5wt and 6wt)

Common features across the range include boron/composite blanks, powerful progressive actions and the ability to turn over big flies with accuracy. They each have a full wells grip with a Winston up-locking, hard-anodised aluminium reel seat with double locking rings behind a pocketed slide band
