The head of the world’s largest supplier of fishing tackle has pledged his support for a new US initiative designed to encourage individuals and families to enjoy the outdoors responsibly.
Pure Fishing, owner of angling brands that includes PENN, Shakespeare, Abu Garcia and Berkley, is supporting #ResponsibleRecreation, which has been created by the Congressional Sportsmen Foundation (CSF) and other conservation partners to encourage Americans to enjoy outdoor recreation while adhering to COVID-19 health practices and natural resource principals.
“While fishing has long been about connecting with each other, it’s also the ideal social-distancing activity for those who want to reap the mental and physical benefits of the outdoors while doing their part to slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Harlan Kent, CEO of Pure Fishing.
“We are proud to stand with the CSF in encouraging responsible outdoor recreation. Only by being responsible with our actions now can we hope to preserve current fishing opportunities and eventually return to angling as usual, surrounded by family and friends, while enjoying the wealth of the great fisheries found across the country.”
