↑ The new Fenglass from Fenwick maintains the brand's tradition of glass construction.
↑ Runner-up in the Angling International-sponsored EFTTEX Best New Product Awards, the Ultralite CADD from Hardy will be making its US debut at IFTD.

Pure Fishing’s fly interests will be well represented at IFTD in the shape of rods and reels from its Hardy, Pfleuger and Fenwick brands.

The new Pfleuger Medalist™ fly reel is an arbor classic has been reborn and now features improved machined construction and technically advanced design.

Built for freshwater applications, it has been designed to tame coldwater, high-country trout or manage hard-pulling steelhead.

Lightweight and sporting the look of a traditional fly reel, the Medalist provides anglers with adequate backing capability for long fights with trophy fish. The reel is proven reliable and the click-and-pawl, precision-check-mechanism drag system provides the distinctive fly reel sound fly anglers love.

The frame and quick-release spool are machined from high-grade aluminium for tighter construction tolerances, precision operation and lower maintenance. The amber polymer handles add to the classic look, while also providing lightweight durability.

It is convertible for left or right-handed retrieve and packaged with a protective reel pouch.

The Pfleuger Medalist fly reel is also available in a combo package, paired with a Fenwick Eagle fly rod.

Known as the brand that introduced the world to graphite rods, Fenwick is also a premier builder of glass fibre models – a reputation that has been underlined by the return of the Fenglass fly rod.

These lightweight rods feature unidirectional S2 glass construction and retain the retro look of the original rods. They are designed for casting accuracy and sensitivity for subtle fly presentations.

Extremely durable, the S2 glass on the Fenglass is said to be 25% stronger than similar models. Unidirectional glass construction creates a lighter and more responsive blank and is the material of choice when strength and minimal weight are required.

They also feature the patented Feralite™ ferrule styling introduced to Fenwick glass fly rods over 50 years ago and still a standard for high quality construction today. The innovative tip-over-butt ferrule design enhances the medium action Fenglass with a graphite rod feel and crisper, faster actions.

A full cork handle, including a secure cork reel seat, is featured on each of the six new three-piece Fenglass models, which range from 6ft 6ins to 8ft 3ins in length. The 3-weight and 4-weight models have a half-wel grip; the 5-weight and 6-weight a full-wel grip and the 8-weight rods have a full-wel, extended handle design.

Pure Fishing stablemate, Hardy, will be showing off its latest products which won praise at this year’s Angling International-sponsored EFTTEX Best New Product Awards by taking runners-up places in their respective categories – the Ultralite CADD fly reel and Zephrus rod.
