David Preston, the man who founded Preston Innovations, is back in the fishing tackle industry.
Preston, who sold his company to Zebco Brands in 2014, has launched Fjuka Bait after discovering a workshop in Japan producing hand-made flexible baits.
The Fjuka website describes the new product as the ‘biggest bait innovation since the maggot’.
The first of the new baits is called Shapers, a hyper-fluoro that can be moulded into different shapes for a range of presentations on the hook or as loose feed.
The bait contains a number of different attractants and taste stimulants, along with a blocker to neutralise unwanted smells passed on by handling.
Preston founded Preston Innovations in 1984. Inventive and opportunistic, but a reluctant front man, he went on to develop it into one of the best-known match brands in Europe.
The company has also diversified into the coarse, carp and bait sectors with its Korum, Avid Carp and Sonubaits brands.
