Iconic French hookmaker, VMC Pêche, rubbed shoulders with the President of the country at a special exhibition to celebrate the very best of ‘Made in France’.
The first-ever La Grande Exposition Du Fabriqué en France was held last weekend at the Elysée Palace in Paris in the presence of President Emmanuel Macron.
In his opening address President Macron mentioned the achievements of the company – much to the delight of its President Stanislas de Castelnau. “It was an honour to be highlighted,” he told Angling International.
And as he was introduced to Macron and is wife, Brigette, de Castelnau, took the opportunity to champion recreational fishing as an ecologically friendly and sustainable pastime that relies on healthy fish stocks.
de Castelnau added: “The President is keen on promoting environmentally-friendly businesses and understood the benefits of the sport.
“Being invited to the event was an honour for the company. We were proud to be one of the 120 companies chosen from a shortlist of 1,700.
“I believe we were selected to attend in appreciation of the long history of VMC Pêche, its reputation for manufacturing quality and innovative products and the fact that we export our goods across the world.”
More than 10,000 visitors attended the two-day event, which was organised by the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, viewing cutting-edge products from household-name French brands that included Peugeot, Bombardier Transportation France, Iveco, Pyrex and Roquefort.
