A familiar face at EFTTEX since day one more than 30 years ago has been that of Plastica Panaro, the Italian manufacturer of plastic injection moulded fishing tackle boxes and waterproof cases.
And the company’s President, Stefano Sirotti, says that it is without doubt the most important stage for the European fishing tackle industry and a historical meeting place for its customers, not only from the region, but across the world.
“The show attracts a wide range of visitors from all areas of the world and is an important place to be seen if you are serious in the fishing tackle industry. We find it invaluable for meeting with customers and presenting new products to the industry.”
Plastica Panaro began as a family-run business in 1962, producing tackle boxes from a small workshop in the centre of Marano, Italy, before diversifying into the manufacture of products for other sectors, including equestrianism. It now employs more than 70 people as it has grown to become a major producer of injection moulded plastic products worldwide.
However, fishing products remain an important part of its portfolio, and EFTTEX has contributed to its success in the sector.
Since making its debut at the first ever EFTTEX in Amsterdam, the company has held an affection for the Dutch city. However, Sirotti admits that one of the advantages of the show is the way it moves to different locations across Europe.
He said: “It is a good practice, although some locations have been better than others. Exposure to other markets in the region presents new business opportunities and we welcome that. EFTTEX continues to be a valuable show and a good place to do business.”
