Plano Molding is celebrating winning a New Product Showcase award at last week’s ICAST show – almost 60 years after producing the first plastic tackle box.

Its Guide Series Hydro-Flo tackle bag was voted top of the tackle management category by dealers and media at the spectacular three-day Las Vegas event.

“Plano has been the category leader in tackle management ever since it introduced the first plastic tackle box back in 1952,” said a delighted Plano Vice President Jesse Simpkins. “This is proof that we continue to innovate every year.”

The 4674 model’s impact-resistant base is riddled with holes to allow water to drain through it, with the floor sitting above the bag’s bottom surface to keep contents clear of a wet boat deck or the ground. Four rubber feet also keep the bag from sliding around.

The bag includes seven of Plano’s ProLatch StowAway utility boxes along with more storage areas in its dual-compartment side pockets and an expandable pocket for further storage.

The top of the Hydro-Flo has yet another storage compartment while underneath the main cover is a clear zippered pocket. Features also include two elastic tie-down straps on the top for securing raingear or a light jacket.
