Outdoor Retailer (OR) has cancelled its Winter Market. The event, scheduled for November 5-7th this year, will now be merged with the Snow Show on January 29-31st next year at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
Exhibitors and sponsors already contracted for the Winter Market will have space available at the Snow Show. Brands can choose a full refund or use it for payment towards a future show. Registered paid attendees will receive a full refund.
OR originally chose November based on data, surveys and feedback from the industry that suggested retailers wanted a show at the start of the buying season, but now says that sentiment has shifted and the outdoor and snow communities prefer a single gathering.
The decision, says the organisers, was reached in partnership with the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) after consultation with key brands and retailers.
OR said that over 230 brands had committed to the November show. However, more than 1,400 brands exhibited at this year’s OR Summer Market.
Organisers say the Summer Market in June 2020 will go ahead as planned.
