Inspira is not a new name in the range of spinning reels produced by Okuma, but the latest model in the series – available late summer – is the result of 100% new engineering, says the US company.
The appearance of the new Inspira differs significantly from previous generation models, with a redesigned profile and lots of new features.
The reel’s frame and sideplates are made from C-40X carbon, making it lightweight, but inflexible, reducing twist and torque and ensuring the internal mechanism stays in perfect alignment. The Inspira is fitted with a Torsion Control Arm made from a single piece of long strand carbon fibre for rigidity.
Also new is the uniquely shaped Cyclonic Flow Rotor, which has been designed to create an increased cyclonic airflow through the ported rotor to reduce drying time and the possibility of corrosion.
Another new feature is the Centrifugal Disc Bail, with a brass disc that is weighted and balanced to create smoother and easier bail operation.
The Inspira is available in white and blue models, each of which comes loaded with 8BB+RB stainless steel bearings, precision elliptical gearing, a machined aluminium, anodised spool and a forged aluminium, anodised handle.
Okuma has gone for serious performance at an affordable price with a reel backed by a one- year guarantee.
