Leeda brand MAP has launched its new, long-awaited seatbox. In fact, it has introduced three models, all available in early November.

MAP’s designers have been working on the project with some of the UK’s top match anglers for a number of years, eager, says the company, not to just badge something ‘off the shelf’ but to create something different in a highly-populated category.

The result is the H Series and the Z-30 Elite, believed by MAP to be the best range of boxes available.

The H-30 Lite is the smallest box in the range and comes with a deep, shallow side drawer, targeting anglers who fish canals and rivers or any venue where a long walk is involved.

The H-30 Comp is a bigger box and has a deep base unit with more storage space. Both boxes feature durable 30mm telescopic, round legs with threaded tops for the attachment of accessories.

They work in conjunction with MAP’s 180 degree Multi Lock system, which not only locks the legs in place. It also allows variable positioning of the locking knob to reduce risk of snagging, as well as minimising storage space.

The rigid drawer units have been designed to avoid jamming and all units feature weather seals for the most extreme conditions. The same units are used across the range and are available separately to allow customisation.

Top of the range is the Z-30 Elite, built on a strong alloy frame that MAP promises will “withstand anything you can throw at it.” The absence of obtrusive support bars gives the box the appearance of floating in mid air, while the minimalist frame design also contributes to weight saving.

The Z-30 has a stacker system that can be configured to individual needs, with a selection of tray and draw units available separately.

A 30mm and 60mm side drawer unit and a 30mm unit and stacker lid are supplied as standard, but the interesting thing about the box is that there is no base unit, so trays can be stacked in any order.

MAP can also supply a concise range of spares, including winders, various legs, side trays and QRS accessories. Two new barrows are also available.
