The new Al’s Living Lures range is modeled on the original Al’s Goldfish, which has been selling for more than 60 years and which found its place in history as one of Field & Stream magazine’s 50 greatest lures of all time.
Al’s Goldfish was recognised for its long history of catching trout, walleye and pickerel. Now baits in the Living Lures series combine the patented design and the tried and tested action of Al’s Goldfish with a real baitfish look enhanced by a painting process that resists chipping and peeling.
These tough little baits come in imitations of three baitfish species – sunfish, perch and rainbow trout – and are available in 3/16oz (1.5ins) or ¼oz (2ins) versions.
There are plans to add brown trout, brook trout, golden and silver shiner, bass and leopard frog in the current sizes for freshwater. A new saltwater series will also be introduced next year, featuring Atlantic croaker, piggy perch, pin fish, menhaden and green mackerel. These 2.75ins baits will be available in weights of ½oz and 3/4 oz.
Al’s living Lure kits are presented in a tough Flambeau case.
