Inshore game fishermen will want to take a serious look at the new Bora, part of the Alano series of rods from Italian brand Airrus.
Designed specifically for fishing with long jerk baits, metal jigs, poppers and walk-the-dog lures, the Bora boasts a number of impressive features, all captured in an aesthetically pleasing blue and black design.
The rod is made from an oversized modular blank to guarantee a true action from reel seat to the first guide. The design concept limits energy dispersion during hook setting, increases casting distance and accuracy and significantly reduces ‘tip bounce’ after casting.
The rod’s curve reacts according to the amount of pressure being applied, stiffening as force increases to provide plenty of power when it is needed most.
The nylon and graphite reel seat sits on the exposed blank, transmitting sensitivity directly into the hand. The split handle design has been improved to reduce overall weight, while the guide system comprises anti-tangle Seaguide guides that are non-corrosive and the optimum size to provide safe passage for knots.
There are two extra heavy models at 7ft 2in (one and two-piece) and two heavy models at 7ft 6in (one and two-piece).
