Fishing boat manufacturer Lund has introduced the 2017 Renegade Series, a Mod V boat which includes versions for both bass and crappie anglers.

The series is built on Lund’s IPS hull and comprises two models. The 1775 is17ft 9in long and is rated for a 90-horsepower engine, while the 1875 measures 18ft 9in and is rated for a 115-horsepower engine.

Both models have a 95in beam and 22-gallon fuel capacity, but the main difference is the livewell placement. The bass models have a 35in, 22-gallon livewell behind the seats, while the crappie version has two additional seat bases in the bow and a 12 gallon bow livewell that’s easily accessible from the casting deck.

Storage was clearly a high priority in the design process. The port side bow rod locker in the 1775 holds rods up to 8ft., while the locker in the 1875 will accommodate rods up to 9ft. Both have custom-fitted internal tubes.

The middle compartment of the casting deck is built to store tackle trays and the starboard storage compartment will take soft plastics and extra clothing or gear.

There is a further concealed storage system under the bench seats in the cockpit area, accessed by flipping up the seat lids. And if that isn’t enough, there are two large storage compartments in the back of the boat, complete with drain plugs and capable of holding tackle trays, tools and other equipment.

The Renegade incorporates Lund’s IPS hull with reverse chines to prevent the boat from pitching dramatically when weight is shifted. The casting deck is designed to comfortably accommodate two adults.

While some aluminium boats tend to plow, Lund insists that the Renegade’s bow lifts quickly to increase acceleration and enhance maneuverability.

Angler’s will also appreciate the easy-to-read control panel and the flip-up cleats that stay of out the way while flipping and landing fish to reduce line tangles and snags.

The boat’s smooth lines and bold colours carry understated Lund graphics. LED lighting is provided at bow and aft.
