China’s new CGC (Yantai) Show is the perfect complement to the CGC (Weihai) Expo, says Li Jiang.

China’s new CGC (Yantai) Show is the perfect complement to the CGC (Weihai) Expo, says the organiser of both events, Mr Li Jiang, who is encouraging international visitors to make the trip to the new show in May.

Says Mr Li: “The Yantai Show has been introduced this year because the Weihai Expo venue no longer has the capacity to accommodate all our exhibitors.

“Weihai is the traditional manufacturing base for our industry but our exhibitors come from all over China plus Korea. Using Yantai as the venue is a sensible move. The exhibition centre has the capacity, it’s only 40 miles from Weihai and it has good airport connections. The two shows can run together very nicely.”

The Yantai Show will be held between May 9th and 11th. The first two days are trade only with the final day open to the public. International visitors used to coming to China Fish in Beijing in February and using the nearby Crowne Plaza as their base will be pleased to know a similar hotel exists near the Yantai show venue. The exhibition hall is also close to the city’s airport.

The CGC (Weihai) Expo, now in its sixth year, will take place between October 17th and 19th.

Meanwhile, Mr Li has hit back at claims that this year’s China Fish in February suffered from disappointing visitor numbers. Some regular international exhibitors and visitors suggested there might have been a shortfall on the number of buyers compared to previous years, but Mr Li told Angling International: “I heard different. I had companies saying there were too many visitors. One exhibitor told me he saw 80 customers on the first day.”

A member of the China Fish team added: “Our data on visitor numbers supports Mr Li’s assertion.”
