The new KastKing Mako 3500 boasts revolutionary motor brushes that prevent fishing line from dropping onto the spool skirt during retrieve.

The KastKing Mako 3500 is among the latest reels to come off the production line of the New York-based Eposeidon brand.

The eye-catching spinning reel offers a number of impressive features for such an affordable model. But it is the revolutionary motor brushes, that prevent fishing line from dropping down on the spool skirt during retrieve, that will most impress consumers, say the makers.

The brushes reduce loops and snarls, resulting in more problem-free fishing. The anti-fouling design is unique and not available from other brands, explains KastKing.

The Mako is also equipped with a drag rated at 22lb/10kg, with over-sized drag washers and 8+1 shielded, stainless steel bearings that provide impressive smoothness. The retrieve rate of 36 inches per each turn of the handle is impressive.

Both the beefy reel foot and the deep spool are made from aero-grade aluminium alloy, which gives the reel a rock-solid feel.

The Mako 3500 is finished in black and silver with a distinctive gold lip. The CNC machined aluminium handle has a flat, non-slip paddle knob. Total weight is 11.8oz/335g.

“Inventive design features make the Mako 3500 really stand out,” said Eposeidon’s Marketing Director, Tom Gahan. “The rotor brushes keep any line that has spilled over from the spool up where it belongs and virtually eliminates line over-run and loop fouling. There’s nothing quite like it on the market.
