Tacklestream, the new digital platform from the makers of Angling International which connects tackle brands with retailers, has gained more traction this month with the addition of former Tackle Trade World Editor John Watson as its new Business Manager.
Watson will be responsible for managing the accounts of those brands from across the world who will soon be taking advantage of Tacklestream’s new website and social media pages to showcase their tackle launches and current products.
He said: “I have been in my new role for just one week, but the sheer levels of positivity surrounding Tacklestream have been overwhelming. The reaction from the trade has proved what I already knew – that Tacklestream is the coming force in the angling trade.
“It’s clear that the trade in Europe is ready for a digital platform that connects brands to retailers. There has been a shift in the business model of suppliers and there is a pressing need to communicate directly with retailers, with product at its core.
“The new Tacklestream website does precisely that. We call it the digital retailer gateway for the tackle trade. And over the next few weeks I will be making contact with tackle brands to explain our new service in more detail.
“These are exciting times for the tackle trade and I’m delighted to be right at the heart of it.”
Tacklesteam’s co-owner, Rob Carter, said: “The job of the platform’s Business Manager requires a combination of account management skills, editorial expertise and a real passion for fishing tackle. Nobody fits the bill better than John.
“It also helps that he is incredibly hard working and totally dedicated to making a success of what is a highly ambitious new launch in the industry.
“I know the trade is eagerly anticipating the arrival of Tacklestream and we are determined to deliver something extra special that enhances the marketing activities of all brands in this new media landscape.
“John will be playing a big part in that process, starting with making contact with brands who want to get on board quickly. Expect a call or email from him very soon.”
