ICAST visitor makes ‘beeline’ for New Product Showcase

Staff from the Discount Tackle Outlet in Florida will be making a beeline for the New Product Showcase when they arrive at this year’s ICAST trade show in July.
“The new products on display – both in the showcase and on the many booths – are the most important part of the show for us,” says Store Manager Scott Traylor.
“We have been going for the past five years and we can’t wait to see all the new stuff that manufacturers have come up with. Knowing what is coming on to the market is key to our business.”
The decision by the American Sportfishing Association (ASA, which organises ICAST) to make Orlando the long-term home for the show triggered a quantum leap in the number of retailers attending the event.
The Discount Tackle Outlet, based in Bradenton, Florida, is one of many businesses to have taken full advantage of the home-state location.
“We attend for the whole three days,” added Traylor. “It’s a huge event and we need that time to see all that we want to see. We also need time to connect with product decision-makers and engineers and talk about customer needs. That’s another big highlight for us.
“Those dealers who do not attend ICAST will have more difficulty guiding their customers towards innovative products that could help their businesses.”
