Marine electronics giant, Garmin, won two awards at the DAME Design Awards. Pictured from left are: Seymour Jarrod (Vice President, Marine Segment), Brigit Schnaase (Chairman, DAME jury) and Pontus Fernstrom (EMEA Segment Director Marine).

ICAST 2019 double winner, Garmin, added two more accolades to its collection at the DAME Design Awards, which took place during METSTRADE in Amsterdam, the world’s largest B2B marine equipment trade show.

Its Force Trolling Motor, winner of the Best in Show and Best Boating Accessory at ICAST, was successful in the awards alongside the GPSMAP 861 Marine Handheld series. The awards attracted 118 entries from 27 countries.

“It’s an honour to win two of the seven DAME categories as these awards recognise equipment that excel in design, aesthetics, functionality and integration – all qualities and standards that we pride ourselves in delivering with every Garmin product,” said Dan Bartel, the company’s Vice President of Global Consumer Sales.

“Whether it’s in a new category for us like propulsion, or with an established product like GPSMAP, we remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver the most innovative products available on the water.”

Garmin, which is incorporated in Switzerland and has principal subsidiaries based in the US, Taiwan and the UK, was recently named as Manufacturer of the Year for the fifth year running by the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA).
