Two of the leading fishing tackle retail chains in France have signed a cooperation agreement that will increase their purchasing power.
The heads of Europêche and Concept Pro Pêche, which represents 195 stores across the country, have written a letter to their suppliers informing them of the creation of an Economic Interest Group (EIG). As well as boosting its collective bargaining strength, the group said the collaboration would pool knowledge and resources to meet the ‘challenges of tomorrow’.
In the letter – seen by Angling International – it says that from now on the group will work in the interests of its specialist stores and customers with all the suppliers who wish to benefit from the organisation to ‘better meet the expectations of our members and develop with us’.
It added that the companies would retain their own identities.
The letter is signed by Xavier de Robert, of head of Europêche, and Philippe Reynaud of Concept Pro Pêche.
