The organiser of Europe’s biggest fly fishing show was at EFTTEX to promote next year’s 10th anniversary event and to generate support for the North Atlantic Salmon Fund (NASF).
It will be the second year that the International Experience World of Fly Fishing (EWF) has partnered with the NASF, which is driving a ten-year plan for the natural restoration of wild Atlantic salmon.
More than 100 manufacturers and distributors from 25 countries are expected to exhibit at the Event Forum Fürstenfeld, near Munich in Germany, on April 18th and 19th, along with more than 4,000 visitors.
Show organiser Michaela Stroh and Fund chairman Orri Vigfússon called in at the Angling International booth to reveal their tie-up and underline its importance to the industry. “We plan to develop a closer collaboration in the future and hope to be able to provide valuable financial support to the NASF,” said Stroh.
“The efforts of the NASF are vital not just to enhance the abundance of salmon, but also to an industry that can only benefit from healthy salmon stocks. Salmon protection will be a central theme for EWF.”
Vigfusson, who founded the NASF 25 years ago, said he was gathering a list of people wanting to support the project and would present the developed plan at the 2015 show.
