Fishing & Travel, the magazine for the globetrotting angler, is looking to its latest appointment to spearhead a subscription push in the United States.
It has announced that Doug Olander, the Editor-in-Chief of Sport Fishing magazine in the US for over a quarter of a century before its closure, has joined as Editor.
Welcoming Olander to his new role, Julien Lajournade, Editor of Fishing & Travel‘s sister publication, Voyages de Pêche, said: “Doug has the ideal background for us. He is an avid travelling angler with experience in both fresh and saltwater.
“We are confident he will bring his knowledge of the North American market and excellent trade connections to the benefit of our business. Fishing & Travel has enjoyed success in Europe and has subscribers in England, Scandinavia, Holland and Germany. It is also growing in Russia and south-east Asia.
“But we lack visibility among North American travelling anglers. We hope that Doug can break the code in that respect and help us gain more readers on the other side of the Atlantic.”
