Attendances at the Fishing & Hunting Expo in Bucharest have risen consistently since the show was first staged in 2016.

Big names from the fishing tackle industry will be lining up at Romania’s fast growing and largest fishing and hunting exhibition next year.

Angling will take up most of the space – 80% of the whole area – at the Fishing & Hunting Expo as the event goes from strength. Since its inception in 2016 it has grown from 60 exhibitors to an expected 120 when the doors open at the Romexpo in Bucharest on March 28th to 31st next year.

The increase in companies taking part, which includes those from the UK, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland and Moldovia, is reflected in the number of visitors to the show which has risen consistently each year and is expected to exceed 15,000 this time around.

Cristi Albu, of the show organiser, the Fishing and Hunting Channel, told Angling International that the event was becoming significant as a trade show in its own right.

“It is becoming a great place to make contacts and agree distribution deals with major players in the trade. It is also an opportunity for companies to interact with anglers and introduce them to the latest products available.

“The Romanian fishing market has been growing over the years due to the expansion of both online and retail stores in the region. The most important brands have a stake in Romania and that has led to anglers in the country becoming more and more interested in quality, brands and service.

“The show represents a valuable opportunity to showcase products to a growing marketplace.

“Both carp and predator fishing are very popular in Romania and this has seen the evolution of Romanian manufacturers who have grown up and become more visible across Europe. Many of them will be represented at the show as will those businesses which cater for the fly fishing and saltwater enthusiast.”

For visitors to the show there will be fishing workshops and demonstrations involving some of the most well known anglers across the globe. The show will also feature the prestigious Fishing & Hunting Channel Awards.

Among the companies represented at the show will be: Fox International, Normark, Shimano, Rapala VMC, Blue Fox, Plano, DAM, Owner, Sébile, Sert, River2Sea, Toray, Asso, Energofish, The One, Fishing Mall, Spro, Decathlon, Finval and some of the biggest manufacturers of bait in Romania.
