First look at the A. Jensen Spook series of fly rods
A. Jensen says that its new Spook series has been developed by drawing on the qualities that has helped give its other rods an almost cult following among anglers. These attributes include a deep and powerful blank that has a remarkably high recovery speed and a diameter that ‘defies’ all the traditional designs.
The Danish company says: “Despite its delicate appearance, the Spook harbours immense casting potential. The extremely thin blank provides very little in the way of air resistance and the patented AHT carbon fibre design enables the rod to deliver energy evenly spread through the cast.
“The name Spook has not been chosen randomly – all fittings as well as the blank have been painted with a matt finish to reduce the glare that might scare the fish away.”
Highlight features include:
- AHT blank construction;
- Four-section blank;
- Deep and powerful action with good recovery speed;
- Full wells cork handle
- Increased thickness of the blank wall for extra strength;
- Slim profile SiC shooting guides to minimise shooting line tangles;
- SDB – Slim Design Blank;
- Lifetime warranty.
There are two rods in the range – one a class six weighing 97kg and the other a class seven at 98kg. For details of the A. Jensen Trophy Specialist rod, which impressed visitors at EFTTEX 2011, click here.
