EFTTEX regular SeaGuide has no doubt how important it is for the company to exhibit at the European showcase.
“If you are trading in the Europe – as we are – it is crucial,” said Rick Hall, Global Sales Manager of the rod components supplier. “You have to be there. It is an unmissable event for us.”
Hall and his team have been travelling over from the US since 2012 when SeaGuide made its bow in the French capital, Paris. It has been a fixture at the show ever since.
“Our first aim was to build brand awareness because no one knew who we were in the region,” he told Angling International. “Now we have a good standing in the region, and being at EFTTEX has played a major role in that.
“It is the only place in the region to meet our partners, solidify relationships, launch new products, get a take on what the competition is doing and keeping pace with where the industry is headed.
“Business has lost its human side – text and emails have become the global communication method of choice, but it will never replace face-to-face communication and EFTTEX is a great opportunity to get out there and meet people.
“It cuts down on travel costs because everyone is gathered in one place and this is a major consideration and bonus.”
Hall is a big fan of EFTTEX moving around Europe to different venues every year. “I love the fact that it is always on the move. It opens up a lot of opportunities in different markets. You get to introduce your products to new people.”
EFTTEX has also received the backing of Rapala VMC Corporation, one of the giants of the industry and a regular at the show for decades.
Its Marketing Director, Teemu Mäkelä, said: “We attend EFTTEX every year because we feel it is important to support EFTTA and the industry in Europe – and to showcase our new products. It is also a good place to meet with distributors, retailers and representatives of the fishing media.”
