Western Filament TUF Line HeviCore
TUF Line HeviCore is an exciting new braided line that incorporates a weighted PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene fibre) core.
As the name implies, this line was developed to have fast sinking characteristics and Western Filament says its research and development team has spanned many years bringing HeviCore to the market.
While a few other line companies replace an exterior strand of PE fibre in their braid to incorporate a similar material, Western Filament says it uses the space created in the centre of the braid to incorporate the PTFE as a core.
This ingenious use of the space allows for incorporation of 25% more PTFE without sacrificing diameter.
The result is increased abrasion resistance, 15% higher strength, and better knot security. Independent testing has shown abrasion resistance far superior to the leading braided lines.
HeviCore also has a weight forward characteristic and less coiling on the reel. This equates to longer casts and deeper diving properties when trolling or vertical jigging.
HeviCore is available in Dirty Green and Bright Yellow colours in diameters of 0.08, 0.10, 0.15, 0.19, 0.28, 0.33, 0.41, and 0.46mm.
