Hart Skin Minnow
The ultimate Hart hard lure concept: ‘realistic, natural and attractive’.
Inspired by technology used by squid fishing lures, the Skin Minnow is covered with a cloth skin layer that is treated in a way that makes it look more realistic than a traditionally hand-painted hard plastic lure.
The ‘dressed to kill’ beauty of the skin lures considerably increases their attractiveness to predators, says Hart.
The skins on the lures can have any type of pattern printed on them to increase their versatility. Also, due to its woven structure, the skin can be impregnated with long-lasting flavours and scents to make them even more appealing to predators.
The lures use new hi-end Asari hooks that have been specifically designed for these artificials. The Asari Arch range has modified the curves of traditional treble hooks to adapt them to the lure’s body. The curves of each point have been made asymmetrical to avoid the hook tangling in the cloth skin.
The hooks themselves are painted white because according to photochromic research carried out in Japan, it is less visible to fish.
Hart adds: “If we consider that most of the attacks on the lure come from the bottom up, white hooks are more difficult to see because they blend in with the rays of light shimmering through the water.”
