Cuda knives are already popular with anglers in the USA since launching in 2015.
↑ The range of 30 SKUs also includes scissors.
↑ Cuda’s pliers will be on show in Amsterdam as the search for distributors gathers pace.

Acme United Corporation, the global leader in high quality cutting tools, is accelerating its move into the European angling market with its Cuda brand, which it will bring to EFTTEX for the very first time next week.

Cuda arrives in Europe following a hugely successful first year in the USA. And the man charged with driving the European launch, Acme’s Sales Director Europe, Patrick Romboy, says the company fully expects the brand to become the dominant force in knives and tools for fishermen.

Cuda was launched with a flourish at ICAST 2014, where the Cuda Grip & Scale took first place in the FishSmart Tackle Category of the product awards. Since hitting stores In January 2015, sales in the USA have rocketed and the brand now has a strong presence in the leading chain stores as well as speclalist tackle shops.

The Cuda range has increased to 30 SKUs including snips, wire cutters, pliers, scissors, shears and of course, knives. The goal is to offer everything in knives and tools so an angler can go the whole day using only Cuda tools, from the time he packs to leave in the morning to the moment he prepares the fish for the table.

When Cuda arrives at EFTTEX in Amsterdam there are plans to show selected buyers a new range of state-of-the-art premium knives under the Cuda Professional banner.

Romboy told Angling International: “We are experts in cutting tools, that’s the first thing to remember. All Acme cutting devices are designed to be the best for the job, no matter what the industry. It’s no different with Cuda. Anglers can expect the highest performance standards. Our mantra is ‘tools made by professionals for professionals’.”

Cuda already has some traction with big retailers in Germany, but the plan at EFTTEX is to start to build a network of distributors – and all territories are up for grabs, right across Europe and beyond.

Romboy explained: “We want specialists who can offer maximum reach across all sales channels. We want to serve the whole market, from big chain stores to the local angling shops. Cuda tools appeal to all kinds of anglers in all fishing sectors, inshore and offshore, and we want to be able to reach all of them.

“Size of company is not the defining factor. We are more interested in the focus and the reach that any partner can offer. If that means a smaller company who can dedicate themselves to Cuda and grow with us, then we are interested to talk. They should definitely come and introduce themselves on our booth in Amsterdam.”
