EFTTA President, Robin Morley admits the association may have made ‘a bit of a mistake’ in selecting Brussels as the venue for this year’s EFTTEX.

EFTTA President, Robin Morley, said that EFTTA “may have made a bit of a mistake” when he addressed members at the Association’s AGA in Brussels this morning.

Speaking on the second day of EFTTEX 2019, the Daiwa Sports Managing Director said: “People are telling us that we made a bit of a mistake because of the proximity of Brussels to Amsterdam. As a result some exhibitors have taken smaller spaces, while some others have not attended this year.”

Despite that, the show reported an attendance of 1076 for the first day, which was on a par with the same day last year. Morley also reported enthusiastic feedback from members for next year’s EFTTEX venue, Prague. “We are expecting a better show,” he added.

The well-attended meeting heard that Membership Director, Jacques Prallet, will continue to drive membership for another year following positive results since he took on the role. Subscription revenue for 2019 could exceed €240,000 compared to €175,000 in 2017, a potential 37% increase.
