Eagle Claw named as a favoured brand in two tackle categories in 2019

Eagle Claw was the most popular brand in two categories – hooks and swivels – in a survey of favoured purchases of tackle in 2019.

US sportfishing market research company, Southwick Associates, has published its annual report into what brands are favoured by anglers across the region.

The company surveyed more than 9,000 fishermen throughout 2019 through its online AnglerSurvey to identify the top brands on the market. Eagle Claw had the most frequently purchased products in two categories – hooks and swivels – while Pure Fishing’s Shakespeare (rods) and Daiwa (reels) were the most popular in the blue riband categories.

• Reels – Daiwa

• Line – Berkley Trilene

• Hard bait – Rapala

• Soft Bait – Zoom

• Hooks – Eagle Claw

• Swivels – Eagle Claw

• Fishing hats/headgear – Under Armour

• Clothing (shirts, pants, shorts, jackets, etc.) – Columbia Sportswear

• Tackle Box – Plano

• Bait bucket/aerator – Marine Metal (Big Bubbles, Cool Bubbles)
