Outgoing EFTTA CEO, Jean-Claude Bel, has been made an honorary member of the European Anglers Alliance (EAA), the organisation that fights for the rights of recreational fisherman across the region.
Jean-Claude, who retires at the end of next month after more than 10 years with EFTTA, was recognised by the EAA at its 25th anniversary General Assembly in Bled, Slovenia, last week.
Fred Bloot, EAA President, described Jean-Claude as a ‘real’ French man, full of passion whose contribution to the EAA was based on good knowledge during key meetings with stakeholders.
Bloot said: “You always did your homework well. We have been together in the European Parliament and we have visited the European Commission. You were always convincing. You know better than anyone the economic side of sport fishing.”
