Dick’s SG announces two senior appointments

Dick’s Sporting Goods, reputed to have around 10% of the retail fishing market in the US, has made two senior appointments to its leadership team.
Ed Plummer becomes Chief Marketing Officer and Steve Miller takes on the newly created role of Senior VP of Strategy and Analytics. Both report to Dick’s President, Lauren Hobart.
Plummer, who will lead the company’s overall marketing strategy and implementation, was previously interim Chief Marketing Officer and before that spent three years as Senior VP at Dick’s Team Sports HQ. He joined the company in 2010.
Miller joins Dick’s from Joann Stores where he was Senior VP of Marketing and eCommerce. Before that he held senior positions at McKinsey & Company, Arizon Companies and UrbanFuture.
He will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives and adopting a centralised test and learn approach across all channels, as well as heading up Dick’s Strategy & Innovation and Strategic Initiative Management teams.
