Dick’s Sporting Goods, which is said to have around 10% of the fishing retail market in the U.S., is said to be looking at Sears and Kmart stores.

Dick’s Sporting Goods is among a number of companies considering the purchase of Sears and Kmart store locations following the group’s bankruptcy in October.

While Sears is not a major player in fishing tackle, Dick’s is believed to have around 10% of the fishing retail market and its strategy of opening more stores shows no signs of slowing.

According to Bloomberg, Sears Holding Corp. is working with a real estate company to explore potential deals for some 500 remaining stores.

Dick’s has not publicly commented on its interest. Other companies including U-Haul, Burlington and At Home Group, are also said to have expressed interest in buying some of the Sears locations.

Meanwhile, former Sears CEO, Eddie Lampert, has reportedly offered $4.6b for Sears and Kmart stores and $1.8b in remaining inventory.
