Cortland International, a joint venture company formed earlier this year, has appointed Wiggler AB as the sole distributor of all Cortland products in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

The news, announced by Cortland International Director Trevor Maundrell and Wiggler principles, Hans Lindholm and Leif Lindholm, will include the supply of Cortland’s full range of fly and sportfishing products.

“Scandinavia is an important market for Cortland International and for the Cortland brand’s global growth,” said Maundrell. “Recreational fishing is embedded in the Scandinavian culture and we believe this new strategic alliance will create further opportunities for Cortland in the region.

“We will work with the Wiggler team to ensure Scandinavian anglers have access to the complete Cortland range, including its world-famous fly lines, rods, reels and accessories, plus a growing line of sportfishing lines, leaders and accessories.

“We like the idea of more Scandinavian anglers enjoying the vast array of fishing water throughout all four countries and catching fish on Cortland lines. Wiggler has the skills, experience and resources to achieve that vision.”

Wiggler’s Hans Lindholm said that the full Cortland range will be in its 2015 catalogue and sales staff welcomed enquiries prior to its release. “Cortland is a great brand with great products and a long history in Scandinavia,” he added. “The possibilities and new products are exciting.”

Cortland International was formed earlier this year as a joint venture between the Cortland Line Company and Jarvis Walker, Australia’s largest fishing tackle distributor. The company has global responsibility for marketing Cortland products outside the USA and Canada.

Cortland’s previous distributor in Scandinavia was BIOS AB. “We would like to thank BIOS for its management of Cortland’s distribution and wish the company every success with its ongoing business,” said Maundrell.
