Clam Outdoors has acquired fellow Minnesota company, All-Terrain Tackle, in a move that will accelerate its strategic growth into the open water market.
Clam’s main business has previously been in ice tackle, but the purchase of All-Terrain gives it an immediate presence in the lucrative bass sector.
Located in Prior Lake, All-Terrain Tackle has been growing its line of bass jigs through grassroots marketing and tournament pros. “I started this brand 17 years ago because I wanted to create the best bass jig on the market, a unique bait that catches fish in any situation,” said All-Terrain founder, Steve Hauge.
“With such a strong, loyal following, I wanted to keep that momentum going, so it made sense to partner with another tackle company that has that same reputation for integrity and quality products. Clam was that company.”
All-Terrain’s jigs are made in the USA and have the trademarked Terrain Tread, or ‘bumps’ on the jighead that allow them to grip cover, along with Pro Tie hand-tied silicone jigs and the TrailrLoc System that prevents plastics and baits sliding down the hook.
Clam says there will no major changes in the short term. “We’re incredibly excited to have another high-quality brand join the Clam family,” said President, Steve Geertsen.
“Steve has done an amazing job with this line and, combined with our R&D team, marketing initiatives and All Terrain pros, we see great things on the horizon for All-Terrain customers.”
Clam, launched in 2010 and based in Rogers, Minnesota, has recently expanded its product line with items including pop-up QuickSet screen shelters, Polar Utility Trailers and Blackfish Gear apparel.
