First Dart Fishing Tackle has appointed Tomas Kulhavy as its new Sales Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Kulhavy, who is based in the Czech Republic and comes from within the sport fishing industry, replaces the previous occupant of the post, Jan Kolousek.
“Jan did a great job over the last three years and we are sorry to see him go,” said FirstDart’s International Sales Manager, Sandy Ogata. “But we are delighted to have someone of Tomas’s calibre to further develop and grow this territory.
“He joins the company at an exciting time. The market has been through some tough years, but globally we are seeing the return of growth and increasing development of our OEM offering.”
Kulhavy, who was previously with Aquazona, a Czech importer and distributor, described the move as his “dream job.”
The Managing Director of fly fishing manufacturer Fulling Mill, Will Landale, has instituted a number of changes at the UK company, one of which sees him taking charge of PR.
“I am fully aware that we have not been informing the market as regularly as we should about what we are doing and I intend to rectify this,” said Landale.
One of Landale’s first tasks was to announce that Fulling Mill has joined the Angling Trust, UK fishing’s key representative body. “Fishing faces a myriad of challenges and I am determined that Fulling Mill is an active and energetic participant in support of the great work the Trust undertakes,” he said.
Trust CEO Mark Lloyd commented: “We need leading businesses such as Fulling Mill to provide input on the issues we face and to support our initiatives.”
RigRap, the US manufacturer of rig storage solutions, has appointed US TV fishing personality and top tournament angler Scott Martin to its pro staff.
Martin is currently ranked second in the FLW rankings for total earnings ($2.2m) and tour wins. His own nationally televised show, The Scott Martin Challenge, is now into season ten and reaches more than 400,000 viewing households.
RigRap’s owner, Glen Oberacker, told Angling International: “Our objective is to deliver the world’s best fishing rig storage solutions and to support our retail and distribution partners with effective marketing efforts. We could not have partnered with anyone more qualified than Scott to help us do that.
“We feel this partnership will effectively communicate our message that RigRap is the most important advancement in tangle-free rig storage.”
RigRap was launched two years ago and has grown its product line to include 14 different products.
